Medical intuitives and energy healers; a growing phenomenon in wellness

medical intuitive, massge therapist, energy worker Arly Fox-Daly
Medical intuitives like Arly Fox-Daly (above), "read"
a person's energy field to dianose mental, physical
and spriritual causes of illness and disease.

Medical intuitives and energy healers are becoming increasingly popular as "go to" people for mind, body, spirit healing and wellness.

It is a non-invasive treament that diagnoses mental and physical dis-ease by tapping the power of intuition and higher insight to bring healing and wholeness to clients.

Medical intuitives and energy healers read a person's energetic field - the total output of mental and physical energy best known in the West by the Chinese term - chi, and suggest corrective courses of action.

Some energy workers are also medical doctors, others Ph.d's or massage therapists, psychologists, etc.

Allopathic Medicine vs. Holistic Medicine

Traditional allopathic medicine, i.e Western/scientific medicine, tends to view illness as something that happens to you, either because of viruses or genetics and as something that needs to be "fixed.," often with drugs.

Holistic medicine takes a much broader overview that illness is the result of psychological and emotional states that affect the natural balance of a person's physical and energy bodies.

As medical intuitive and author Carol Ritberger says, "illness is the soul's way of bringing attention to the obstacles blocking the evolutionary process."

The medical intuitive discerns these obstacles and patterns and brings them to the attention of the client so they can make positive life changes.

With this in mind I contacted medical intuitive Arly Fox-Daly who works in New York City and the tri-sate area, to find out first hand what's it all about.

The result: It was like four years of life college in a two hour session. I laughed, I cried, it was better than Billy Elliott.

My session with Fox-Daly was, without exaggeration, life changing. I "woke up" to stuff I had kind of sort of already known about that needed changing, but when presented back to me in her clear, direct and compassionate manner, made them much clearer and much more urgent.

Archangels, star charts and lemon oil

Unless you’re familiar with  past lives, star charts and channeling of the archangels, her methods may sound unusual, they did to me and I know a lot about this stuff.

And yet the experience rang completely true and blew me away so many times that, by the end, I felt like Sonoran sand in a wind storm.

After an initial phone consultation, I met Fox-Daly, who is also a licensed massage therapist and NLP practitioner, a week later in a non-descript office in the west village.

FD said she would not be doing medical intuition on me, but suggested instead I stand a few feet away from her so she could “read” my energy and report what she found.

“I just get the messages, like a though,t and speak or act them. You may hear me using your words,” she said.

Ok, fine. I went in willing to be open to whatever.  I put the skeptic outside the room for now and just decided to let it flow.

Being a general in a past life

FD began with a brief centering ritual that involved breathing exercises and connecting to the larger Universe and her spirit guides.

“The first word I’m getting is ‘protection,’ does this mean anything to you?” I tried to stay as non-committal as possible, I didn’t want to influence the proceedings.

“You need to feel protected, you also are willing to cut people’s heads off” and she started making a chopping motion with her hands. “You were a general once, maybe World War I? You tank rolled over people.”

In my mind, I was thinking, "ok, but this stuff  could apply to anyone.."

As she continued to get more detailed however, it seemed she knew me pretty damn well. At times she seemed as amazed as I was as to what was she was relating to me.

When she talked my relationship issues with my wife, I cried. She was dead on about our communications issues and what needed to be done to correct them. Not bad for never having met my wife.

And whether or not I was literally a general in a past life or this was more metaphorical for now, and who knows, certainly a billion Buddhists and Hindus will attest to the past life reality, it is true that I've been accused in this life of emotionally tank rolling over people.

Women in past relationships have accused me of being "forceful," “dictatorial," an emotional “bin-Laden” and “the American Psycho” (great movie by the way).

Now I only cut people's heads off emotionally, so I guess that's progress.

Fox-Daly also confirmed it is my path to know the pains of love so I can help others through it too.

The skeptic speaks

A cynic might say, “well she’s just really good at reading people.” Or, “she said general things until she hit upon stuff you agreed with.” Fine, if  that’s all that happened, then she is still an excellent reader of people and her insights are exceptional.

But based on my own personal experience,  I am happy to accept a combination that she is a keen reader and a channel for a larger energy. And that we all have this latent ability to varying degrees.

For me, a good healer like a good artist, is present to what already is and allows it to flow through; is a channel for a Bigger awareness.

Fox-Daly charges on a sliding scale for students and those with demonstrated need. Most sessions run about an hour.
